This collection includes a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article on the Steel Workers Institute at Penn State (1947); issues of The Uniter, the newsletter of United Steel Workers of America Local 1219, Braddock, Pennsylvania (1947-1949); five steel industry booklets (1947-1953); a scrapbook, mainly of newspaper clippings on steel industry topics (1947-1965); typewritten by-laws, minutes, and agreements pertaining to USWA Local 4337, Pittsburgh (1951-1953), and a form-letter from David McDonald requesting non-Communist affidavits (1952). Thirty-eight photographs capture groups at a safety instructional class and at conventions and meetings involving Local 1219 (Braddock), Local 4337, and state and national labor organizations (1942-1958 and undated).
